Central College, Pella, IA

We are very excited to welcome you back to Pella for the ICDA Summer Symposium! We are so grateful to be hosting this event at Central College and cannot wait for you all to join us and reIGNITE. This event has always been the refreshment that many of us require to “hit the ground running” in August. The presenters and performers at this year’s symposium will provide that and more to all in attendance!

There are several events in which you can participate and interact this year: the Worship Service will feature a collaborative performance of Will Lopes’ original Brazilian Mass, there will be a Director’s Chorus under the direction of Z. Randall Stroope, a conducting masterclass with Dr. Andrew Last, and Mentoring and collaboration with the Retired Directors Choir.

We have incredible performances for you to attend: Grammy-nominated vocal supergroup, säje, four-time international chorus champions of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Ambassadors of Harmony, IA-based Vox, and Dr. Jason Max Ferdinand and the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers. The All State Vocal Jazz ensemble will be led by Alyssa Allgood, and the All State Show Choir will be directed by Nancy Allen with choreography by Kevin Chase. All performers will have Meet the Artist sessions in which attendees can work with the directors and performers.

Interest sessions will be presented by a variety of speakers from around the country and within our own membership. We will hear from Z. Randall Stroope, Tony Guzman, Chase Shoemaker, Rachael Wragge, Kevin Chase, Alyssa Allgood, Ryan Person, Tom Hales, Jim Cox, Angela Hazelett, Aaron Hansen, Andrew Jacobsen, Luke Lovegood, Brandy Waller Pace, Joy Hesse, Brett Epperson, Andrew Last, Ryan Beeken, Randy and Nancy Ewing, Matt and Jenn Walker, Jill Bjorklund, Nick Oswald, Haley Gibbons, Heather Nail, Kevin Palu, and Nancy Allen.
