R&S WOMEN'S CHOIRS
Welcome to the ICDA Women's Choir Repertoire and Standards webpage! I look forward serving as Women'sChoir chair and working with all of our Iowa choral colleagues! I am excited to promote women's choirs throughout the state.
If you have any suggestions/concerns please email me and together we'll try to make Treble Choirs an even stronger area of our choral world.
Have a great 2013-14 school year!

Julie directs Lyric Choir, Chorale, SideWayz and Flip Side JV Show Choirs, co-directs Choraliers, Concert Choir, the high school musicals, teaches the DMACC accredited Music Theory and Music History classes to junior and senior music students, and teaches voice lessons. She has mentored many young educators in their student teaching experience from area Iowa colleges and universities. She also has a private voice studio, is an adjunct music teacher at Simpson College in Indianola, and is active in her church.
A native of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Julie received her BA in Vocal Music Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and her MA in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She adjudicates regularly for the IHSMA sponsored Iowa All-State Festival, vocal solo, small group, show choir, and large group State Contests. Julie is the current Women's Choir Repertoire & Standards Chairperson for the Iowa Choral Directors Association. She is the past SC-ICDA District representative and 9th Grade OPUS Chairperson. She has been an adjudicator and clinician for several private show choir competitions and has been a guest conductor at several festival choirs in Iowa.
Julie is married to Joe, who keeps her well-fed and laughing (he's a great cook and always has a joke to share). They are proud parents of Kari, a RN at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, and Tim, a CAD designer for Ambassador Steel in Newton. Their dog, Zoey, and cat, Callie, help keep their home entertaining!
