Lost In The Stars

Kurt Weill
Arr. Paris Rutherford
Hal Leonard
SATB, a cappella

This is a ballad from the musical production, “Lost in the Stars” (©1944).  This jazz chart alternates unison passages with lyrical SATB jazz harmonies. It offers opportunities for a duet (in octaves) and an alto/bass solo.
Although billed as part of the Vocal Jazz Series, it could be equally appropriate for a madrigal choir, chamber choir, or any small choral ensemble.  It would also serve as a good introductory piece to the jazz choir idiom.
