R&S 4-YEAR COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY

Welcome,
It is my pleasure to serve as the R & S chair for colleges & universities. I have had the privilege of working fulltime with college and adult choirs for over twenty years, and continue to find great joy in helping singers learn, appreciate, and perform great music in community. We all know that finding great literature that is appropriate for our ensembles and audiences takes a great deal of time and work. I have appreciated the recommendations of the national and state R & S chairs over the past years via journal articles, and I hope to offer some helpful ideas during my term. For my first submission, check out the Sounding Board November 2010 issue Number 2, which included recommendations of several large multi-part quality works. The submission for Fall 2011 will include a variety of shorter works. For a corporate reading experience, I encourage your participation in the Summer ICDA Symposium (July 25-28, 2011) in Mason City, where you will have the opportunity to sing with your colleagues through a large number of recommended works.
