R&S: Children's Choirs

Dianne Braymen received her BA degree from Northwest Missouri State University and has her Kodály Certification Level II and CMP track I. She is currently in her 18th year at Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School, where she instructs over 620students in a prekindergarten through fifth grade music curriculum and directs a Boys’ Singing Team and Fifth Grade Girls’ Choir.

Dianne is currently the Repertoire & Standards Chair of ICDA Children’s Choir and was the chair for the 2002 NCACDA children’s honor choir held in Des Moines. Besides teaching at the public school level she is a board member of the Heartland Children’s Choir, Leadership Team at ADM, Iowa Comprehensive Musicianship Project Team, and a private piano teacher.

ICDA Children's Choir & General Music Teachers' Workshop
**10-23-2007 UPDATE The ICDA Children Choir/ Elementary workshop was held on October 20, 2007 at United Community School with LeAnn Houlette as our workshop host. She treated us royally with treats, lunch and all her materials in her classroom.  It was a grand day for all the attendees with Bobi Jo Friesen presenting a CMP lesson plan, Sandy Miller sharing wonderful octavos in her reading session, and we all created wonderful compositions with LeAnn Houlette sharing great technology tips. A big thank you to all three master teachers for their presentations. I also want to thank all that attended and shared their ideas and thoughts as we all participated in the workshop.
