Dear Northwest Iowa Colleagues,

This is my fourth year as your Northwest Iowa District Representative for the Iowa Choral Directors Association. My last three years as your district representative have been very rewarding as I have made many new friends and become better acquainted with old ones. I have been very impressed with the level of cooperation, and camaraderie among the Northwest teachers. I hope that this school year will hold many successes and joys for all of you as you give your best to your students. When the days are long, the students intractable, the weather atrocious, your daily schedule unrealistic, your body exhausted, your nerves frayed, and retirement still years away; remember that ours is not just a job but a calling!

Iowa Choral Directors, and the Northwest ICDA District are here to help us all get through those hard times and to celebrate the good ones. If you are not a current member of ICDA, please consider joining this year. It is a great organization that promotes professionalism in our field. The publications, workshops, clinics, conventions, and friendships made will enhance both your teaching and your personal life.

Below are the events planned for the 2010—2011 school year. Not all details have been worked out but will be on the website as soon as possible. Please check the website with regularity to see what has been added.
