Welcome to North Central District ICDA! I am proud to be representing a district with a long history of outstanding musicians, dedicated professionals and eager learners. I am looking forward to an amazing year. As stated in Peter Boonshaft’s Book, Teaching Music with Promise: Conducting, Rehearsing, and Inspiring, “As teachers what could be more important than teaching our students that truth, about music and so much of life, by helping them discover the creative spark in each of them?...Why do we need to dream for our students and teach them to dream? Simply because if we don’t, quite possibly no one ever will. Inspiring our students to dream gives them the liberty to become ever more perfectly what essentially they are”. Thank you for your continued to support of each other and the continued dedication to our students here in the North Central District. I look forward to meeting with you over the next year at each of our events!

Monday	November 8	North Central Honor Choir Festival NIACC, Mason City Concert at 7:00pm Guest Conductors: Dr. Lee Nelson from Wartburg College will conduct the 10th-12th grade Mixed Choir. Opus director, Duane Philgreen, West Delaware High School will conduct the 9th-10th grade Honor Choir. Opus director, Heidi Schwery, Harlan Community High School will conduct the 7th-8th grade Girls Honor Choir. Opus director, Tom Gerking, Westwood Schools will conduct the 7th-8th grade Boys Honor Choir.
