ICDA North Central District

Welcome to the North Central District web page! My name is Deb Hild and I am serving as the current representative for this district. I’m looking forward to be contributing to I.C.D.A. in this way and hope I will be hearing from many of you when you have a concern or a suggestion you would like presented to the board. I would also like to hear about your ideas for current or future events that support music teachers in north central Iowa and benefit our students.

This is my 29th year of teaching and like the start of each new year, I trust it will be my best! I teach at Jefferson Elementary School in Mason City. This year they’ve released me from my preschool responsibilities and are assigning me to John Adams Middle School to assist with large number of singers enrolled in Matt Jensen’s choirs. I love change! We’re grateful that our administration sees the need for extra eyes, ears and hands when working with the numbers of students that Matt has grown. Way to go, Matt! And score a point for our administrative team, as well. Amid the struggles in our business, it’s exciting to feel like you’re paddling in the same direction as others in your district. (The “paddling” metaphor is in remembrance of this past summer of floods!)
